ERCO Using and licensing Aicher pictograms Focus

Your advantages Using Aicher Pictograms means being able to utilize for your own particular communication task the functionality of a system of symbols that has been well proven for decades, while simultaneously benefiting from the positive image of these highly recognisable symbols. Aicher pictograms have long been in the public consciousness and are available in a wide range of symbols for many areas of life, making them able to convey greatly varying contents efficiently and effectively. Because the pictogram design is based on a syntactic system, ERCO can keep expanding and adapting the range to suit new situations and applications. This might be to keep pace with technical innovations or the convergence of international markets and cultures, but it also includes creating individual designs for specific customer requirements. In this way, the Aicher pictogram system remains a timeless yet living system that is constantly being updated.
The status of Aicher pictograms as design classics and icons of our everyday culture is commonly accepted. Brands, products and institutions of all kinds can share in this positive, high-quality and pleasant image by acquiring a pictogram license.

Becoming licensedIf you would like to use Aicher pictograms, please contact ERCO to acquire reproducible, digital originals complete with the relevant license for usage. Following on from the many years of working together with Otl Aicher, our company has taken over the sale and licensing of the Aicher pictograms worldwide. This means that the usage rights pertaining both to the Aicher pictograms themselves and to the syntactic system on which they are based are held by ERCO.
Our employees will be delighted to furnish you with a quotation for a license for your individual application and to draw up a suitable license agreement. Criteria for calculating the license fees can include the number of pictograms used, the duration of use, the print run of printed media or the quantities of products. The type of usage will, of course, also be taken into account so that recognised non-profit-making licensees such as sports clubs or sports associations can expect advantages over and against commercial users.
