2. Access Data / Server Log Files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records information in server log files (including date and time of access, file retrieved, volume of data transferred, browser and operating system, referrer URL). The IP address is stored in truncated (anonymised) form only, so that it cannot be traced back to you.

This data is processed for the purposes of technical operation, stability and security of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functional and secure website pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

Log files are deleted after 30 days.

4. Cookies and Consent Management

This website uses only a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are used without consent (Section 25 (2) TDDDG; Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR):

  • fe_typo_user: session cookie of the content management system; links the licence enquiry basket to your session, among other things (duration: session)
  • Consent cookie: stores your selection in the consent manager (duration: 12 months)

Web analytics (Section 5) starts only after you have given your consent via our consent banner (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). Without your consent, no analytics take place; analytics or marketing cookies are never set.

You may withdraw or adjust your consent at any time with effect for the future via the "Customize privacy settings" button in the footer of every page.

5. Web Analytics with Matomo

If you have given your consent, this website uses the open-source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo runs on our own systems in Germany; all data remains there and is not shared with third parties. No data is transferred to third countries.

Matomo is configured not to set any cookies – this is enforced server-side. Your IP address is truncated (anonymised) before any processing, and your browser's "Do Not Track" setting is honoured. Only anonymised usage data is collected, such as pages visited, approximate location (based on the truncated IP address), browser used and duration of the visit.

The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG. You may withdraw it at any time via the privacy settings in the footer.

6. Contact Form, Licence Enquiry and Email Contact

If you contact us via the contact form, the licence enquiry form (including the basket used to compile pictograms) or by email, we process the information you provide – in particular your name, email address, company (if applicable), telephone number, the content of your enquiry and the pictograms selected – in order to handle your enquiry, prepare a quotation and respond to any follow-up questions.

The data is transmitted to our email inbox and additionally stored in the database of the content management system. The form's security check (captcha) is generated entirely locally; no data is transmitted to third parties in the process.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the conclusion or performance of a licence agreement; otherwise, it is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

Enquiry data in the database is deleted no later than after 12 months, unless statutory retention obligations apply. If a contract is concluded, we retain the related records for the periods required under German commercial and tax law (Section 257 of the German Commercial Code (HGB), Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)).

7. Disclosure of Data

Your data is transferred to third parties only where this is necessary for the purposes stated above (e.g. to the hosting provider as a processor), where a legal obligation exists, or where you have given your consent.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access to the personal data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR) – most easily via the "Customize privacy settings" button in the footer. The lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal remains unaffected.
